Scaling Mediaite & The Daily Pour: 289K Views in 3 Days

The Challenge

Taking over YouTube operations for Mediaite and The Daily Pour in November, the goal was to revitalize growth and establish a dominant presence in the legal and political commentary space.

The Strategy

We focused on three core pillars:

1. Smart Titles & Thumbnails: Optimizing for high CTR (Click-Through Rate) by leveraging curiosity gaps and emotional triggers.
2. Timely Topics: Capitalizing on breaking news cycles (e.g., legal/true crime, political updates) to ride the wave of search and suggested traffic.
3. Audience-Focused Execution: Tailoring content pacing and structure to maximize retention.

The Results

In just ~3 months, the team and I have been crushing it, delivering some of the all-time top-performing videos on both channels:

• 289K views in 3 days on a big legal/true crime piece (>100x VPH!)
• 62K views quickly on an explainer on Trump's pardon pipeline
• Multiple clips hitting top 10 all-time views across all of our channels
• An increase of 4% to 6% CTR across the board
